Don’t tell me it’s not a diet. You lie!

Okay … I just have to get this off my chest.    Right now and for the next couple of months, we are going to be bombarded by the likes of Weight Watchers, Nutri-Systems, Jenny Craig, and the list goes on and on.  I want you to know I have nothing against any of these organizations, and in fact, I am confident they all have their place in this world and they work.  BUT … stop trying to fool me with your marketing rhetoric about how “it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle”.   Listen and listen good.    Anytime I can’t put whatever I want in my mouth, IT’S A DIET!

Lie #2 – After you do this diet … oops I mean lifestyle for a while, your tastebuds will change and you’ll see you won’t crave these type of foods anymore.  Lies, lies, lies.  For the last year of my life I have eaten enough vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds, and all the recommended non white foods.  I’m here to tell you my craving for doughnuts, cake, cookies, french fries, mashed potatoes, ICE CREAM (my personal favorite) bread pudding (ooooooooooh my), flan … (well you get the idea, the list is endless) never goes away….never!

So … all you guys, STOP LYING TO ME!

That’s all I have to say.  Oh except one thing.  I’ve already started my Medi-fast diet for 2010.  Happy New Year everyone.

The Sound of Music Antwerp – How great our joy

.

The Sound of Music- One of the best videos I’ve ever seen.  JOY JOY JOY

More than 200 dancers were performing their version of “Do Re Mi”, in the Central Station of Antwerp. with just 2 rehearsals they created this amazing stunt! Those 4 fantastic minutes started the 23 of march 2009, 08:00 AM. It is a promotion stunt for a Belgian television program, where they are looking for someone to play the leading role, in the musical of “The Sound of Music”.

Largest Cross of Christ in Western Hemisphere

If you are ever on I-40 going through Texas and find yourself around Groom, Texas you cannot miss what is billed as the largest cross in the western hemisphere. This cross can be seen miles before you get to the exit which will take you to it. Once you exit I-40 you go about 1/4 mile south and then about 1/2 mile west. There is another exit about a mile west of the exit we used, as well., so if you use that exit you would go about 1/4 mile south and about 1/2 mile east. Sorry, I didn’t pay attention to what number the exits were, but they were both Groom, Tx. exits.

Once you make this exit you are in for the most awesome experience of your life. If this site does not move you spiritually then I don’t know what would..

The Cross Of Our Lord Jesus Christ is more than the Cross. It is also life size bronze sculptures depicting the journey of Read the rest of this entry »

How to ruin all you’ve worked for

Are You blameless before God?

Put your trust in Gold saying that “it” is your security

Rejoice in your great wealth

Give homage to created things rather the creator

Allow your heart to be led by your eyes

Deny justice to those who work for you if they a grievance against you

Deny the desires of the poor or widows

Do not clothe the needy

Do not warm those who are cold if you have the means

Don’t use your influence to help the fatherless

Curse your enemy and gloat over my enemy’s misfortune or trouble

Do not feed your family

Don’t house the weary traveler who has no room to sleep in

Hide Guilt in my heart

Look Lustfully at a woman and lurk around at your neighbor’s door

Fear of crowds of men rather than trust in God

All of the above are found in Job 31.

A lesson on Integrity

Glenn Beck’s recent guest was John Huntsman, an American businessman and philanthropist, the founder of Huntsman Corporation and Huntsman is a member of the Forbes 400, where he is currently ranked the 47th richest man alive.  He is the father of current United States Ambassador to China and former Governor of Utah Jon Huntsman Jr. He is a Mormon.

But none of the above really matters.  What really matters is the integrity of the man.  One could be the richest or the poorest man in the world but integrity can make the poorest of men rich and the lack of integrity the richest of men poor.

Integrity is not a 90 percent thing, nor a 95 percent thing; either you have it or you don’t.

What struck me and captured my attention about Mr. Huntsman was the portion of the program where the two men were talking about the importance of integrity.  Mr. Huntsman shared a story from his past that showed me just how much integrity he had.  He wasn’t sharing in a boastful way,  he was merely telling about some situations in his past where his own integrity was tested.

One such test involved tensof millions of dollars.  I believe the number was in excess of $50,000,000 give or take a few million.  He could have had those millions of dollars but his self respect and integrity would have been lost.

And so, today, is a day I’m thinking about integrity.  Today is a day I’m thinking of my husband.  My husband has integrity.  He has integrity when it’s popular to possess it and when it is not.  He has been tested and he has proved to possess this wonder character trait.

And … today is a day I’m thinking about my own integrity.  I’d like to tell you (or rather confess to you) something that recently happened in our life together.  Before you read on I want to say you may be thinking “why would I share such Read the rest of this entry »
