Quiet Worship

Sometimes one is just in the mood for tranquility. It is in those times that I love Quiet Worship!

Here is a growing collection of some of my favorites. Many songs are glorying to the Lord, and there are some selections I have added just because they are beautiful and make me think of Heaven or just a beautiful place or creation God has fashioned on earth.

What is our definition of quiet worship? Calm, peaceful, serene and restful music. Certainly there is a place for more celebratory music, but for many, if not most, “soft” sounds are more conducive to relaxation, reading, meditating, worship, prayer and/or intercession.

Feel free to comment and/or recommend your personal favorites. Perhaps I’ll post them here. Enjoy!

Sadly, Eva left us way too early at the tender age of 33.

Over the Rainbow -Eva Cassidy

Although this is not a “worship song” per se, it is absolutely
“The” most beautiful arrangement I’ve ever heard.  It always reminds me of God,  and
this beautiful earth he gave to us to live in, and of Heaven, where, by God’s grace all we,
who have trusted Christ for Salvation, will go one day.

Eva had a beautiful, clear and haunting voice that reflected  her meloncholy
spirit.  She had a pure, unspoiled talent.  A singer of songs.  I  imagine King David
would have loved her.

Don Moen – You make me lay down

You make me lie down In green pastures
You make me wanting for nothing
You fill my hunger with honey from your sweet sweet word
You let me worship before you So I will love you and adore you
You are my Shepherd, You are my Jesus, You are my Lord
