I consider myself very fortunate to have stumbled upon the Cross on my cross-country trip back in "99. I left California in pursuit of happiness, the escape of pain and in search of myself.

Finding Groom, Texas was one of the most spendid surprises of my life. When I spotted her in the vast distance I got chills. I could not believe it. I kept her in view for what seemed like an entire hour. The approach was surreal - I cranked my head in wonder, baffled by the location.

I noted all of the activity and work in progress at the base. I logged the experience in my travel journal and felt truly disappointed to leave her behind. I watched her in my rear-view mirror until she disappeared.

I consider the Cross to be one of the absolute best landmarks on the I-40 and recommend that everyone see her.

Thanks for the article.

We are all spiritual beings created in the image of God. In that sense, yes, we are "all" spiritual.
How we use the word "spiritual" is the issue. Do we mean we are more aware of God's presence than the non-believer? Or do we mean we are better and have more favor with God?

To me I believe it is a matter of the heart. I would rather say that I'm a "spiritual being" seeking the face of God, His forgiveness and mercy, than that I'm "spiritual".

God bless you all.
