Comment on Is it humility or the height of pride to claim we are spiritual by KNEELEE

It seems kinds of "prideful" to say I'm spiritual....I'm not sure it's the "height" of pride...but a kind of pat on the back.
The new age movement uses this term a lot. It is sort of a big blanket over all the movements. So I personally don't use it. The scripture uses is as good and not good...God knows our heart and if we say it with pride it's a no-no. I would suggest a word study in the use of the word in all five scriptures...our language is not as rich as the Greek and there may be two or three differenct words for the English use of the word spiritual. For instance Vines says: "According to the Scriptures, the "spiritual" state of soul is normal for the believer, but to this state all believers do not attain, nor when it is attained is always maintained. Thus the spostle, In 1Cor. 3;1-3 suggest a contrast between this spritual state and that of the babe in Christ...of the man who because of immaturity and enexperience has not yet reached spirituality, and that of the man who by permitting jealousy, and the strife to which jealousy always leads has lost his spirituality. " I will conclude therefore, like so many things this spirituality can be a moving situation in ones soul. Sold to sin...yes, redeemed and repentent, yes...constant battle between our flesh and the "spirit". But...thanks be to God I am saved by Grace....and for that I say...thank you Lord. Well that's what I think....kneelee

HEY ANGELA! MY NAME IS DEBBIE AND LAST SUNDAY, I HEARD YOUR SONG, " I SING PRAISES TO YOUR NAME" FOR THE FIRST TIME. I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. IT'S BEEN STUCK IN MY HEAD EVER SINCE. WHEN I WAS IN PRAYER THE OTHER DAY, THE LORD GAVE ME SOME MORE LYRICS TO IT. HE ALSO GAVE ME A SPEAKING PART FOR THE MIDDLE OF IT. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, YOU CAN EMAIL ME AND I CAN SEND IT TO YOU. YOU WROTE A BEAUTIFUL SONG. GOD BLESS!
