Nehemiah 1:1 - When was the last time you fasted and prayed about the moral state of affairs in our country. I was struck this morning by Nehemiah's words "hear us who delight in revering your name" ... from Nehemiah 1:1. I immediately thought....Lord who truly reveres your name today. Do we revere it enough … Continue reading Delighting in God’s name
Reflections
Am I ignoring God today?
While its true that we serve a God of order, we don't serve an obsessive compulsive Creator. God knew how to rest. How this man could ever rest being "careful" about so many things is beyond me, and yet he is being held up as a model to follow.
Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit
What Does It Mean to be Poor in Spirit. I've been pondering that portion of scripture for some time now. (Matthew 5 - from The Beatitudes). I've been asking myself if I am Poor In Spirit. I don't think I always am. As a matter of fact, I doubt think many people are. But I do think that many people, if they truly understood what Jesus meant by that statement would want to be poor in Spirit. However, what I'm learning about that statement is that it is the opposite of what the world would have us be. The world wants us to be self-sufficient, proud and godless.
Will God still judge a faithless nation?
Do you think that God would do the same for any country who does not follow wholeheatedly after him today?
Reflections: Murdering Righteousness
Let's look at this drama through modern day eyes. Would we, today, drag a fellow believer into our church lobby and begin to murder him? Well this is exactly what happened in II Chron. 24. Zechariah was simply telling the people what God wanted them to hear.
Who really rules our country and the world ?
. This is such a good reminder for Christians today. The following verse is taken from the Old Testament, but it is always relevant. 2 Chronicles 20: 6 - "O LORD, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and … Continue reading Who really rules our country and the world ?

Ignoring Joy
How sad this day is for the Atheists, for our country and for Olympia, Washington that they have allowed such a act, especially at one of the most sacred times of year for Christians.
Does God Take Pleasure In Me?
By Angela C. Hebrews 11:6 - Without Faith it is impossible to please God. This morning I was reading the account of Enoch. Enoch was the man who was so pleasing to God that scripture says "God took him". Enoch Gen.5:24 Yes, God took him. Took him where? God actually took Enoch out of this … Continue reading Does God Take Pleasure In Me?
Title Deed To Heaven
How can we ignore such a great salvation where our title deed is not to an early treasure that certainly one day depreciate into worthlessness . . . but to a mansion in heaven being prepared for us. Of Father let us continue to encourage one another with the reminder that you have gone before us, and you have given all of us a title deed called Faith.
Death angels?
What Say Ye? I'm not saying that the Lord brought this about. I think I may have heard or read that a careless disposal of a cigarette started at least some of this disaster. But one day, all across this land we will see images like this, and there won't be enough water on earth to douse the flames that are scattered abroad by the command of the Lord.
Obsolete, Aging and Disappearing
Hebrews 8 teaches that God's new covenant, the covenant of grace allows a sacrifice once for all through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. That God has written his law on my heart and put his law in my mind. His holy spirit brings will remind me and/or prompt me of what to do or what not do to do.
Faith with no value
And so, why don't Christians vote their values? Isn't a vote for a leader who supports abortion rights against all a Christian believes in? This post is not about the abortion issue. But this post is about the values we hold dear.
Are you suffering?
It is so easy to become immersed and so occupied with our lives that we forget the suffering of others.

Melchizedeck
I have read Hebrews several times over the years. It was only today that the light bulb went on and I realized that the Melchizedeck mentioned in Hebrews 7 was Jesus who appeared to Abraham.
Immutable (what?)
Hebrews 6:18 -God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. ______________________________ Immutable........what an interesting word that is! In my reading today I came across the word "unchangeable" in … Continue reading Immutable (what?)
If we hold
Hebrews 3:14 - We have come to share in Christ if (emphasis mine) we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. ________________________ Over the years of my Bible reading, study and meditation I continually come across that little word "if". Songs have been written about that word, poems and no doubt … Continue reading If we hold
Drifting toward the ocean of unbelief.
Heb.1-3 - Reading through the chapters God is so powerful that simply by his "word" he can sustain us. We are exhorted in these chapters to pay close attention to not not just God's word but the hearing of God's word. What this means to me is to heed the godly words others speak into … Continue reading Drifting toward the ocean of unbelief.
