The Dow Jones industrials plunging as much as 800 points — their largest one-day point drop — before recovering to close with a loss of 370. The catalyst for the selling, which also took the Dow below 10,000 for the first time in four years, was investors’ growing despair that the spreading credit crisis will take a heavy toll a

I have heard it said that Jesus wrote more about money than on any other topic in the Bible. Why is it that we think the money we earn “belongs to us”. Intellectually we understand that everything belongs to our Lord and that we are merely stewards of the talents and resources he gives us. But in the past few days and weeks I have seen how wise and true Jesus words are in this area of money. A few years ago I owned no stocks, and I had no desire to do so. I remember hearing about other people who were in the market “wringing their hands” and similar stock market crisis points and I was thankful I didn’t have to spend any energy thinking of such things. But this past year I decided (upon the advice of someone I highly respect to “balance my portfolio” by purchasing stocks. It seemed a good thing at the time, but now I’m not so sure I didn’t have it right in the first place.
My husband and I are getting older, and its hard to know what to do, but I must admit its all a little confusing to me all this investing stuff. It seems to make me think of money more than I used to. It seems to make me more anxious.
Jesus had it right …. He who wins souls is wise (Prov.11:30) (remember I thought my friend who counsel led me buy stocks was wise) I think my only investment strategy is to owe no many anthing except the debt of love.
Romans 13:8
[ Love, for the Day is Near ] Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.
